My Repair Process
🛠️ Repair Process
Every repair is completed personally by me with precision, care, and respect for your timepiece.
📦 Step 1: Pack & Ship Your Timepiece
Before sending your clock or watch:
Wrap it securely in bubble wrap or padded material
Use a sturdy shipping box with cushioning to prevent damage
Do not send display boxes, pouches, or personal packing materials — these will not be returned and will be discarded
Mail-in instructions and shipping address will be provided upon request.
📥 Step 2: Intake & Confirmation
When your package arrives at my Asahikawa, Hokkaido workshop, I will:
Log and open your shipment carefully
Inspect and photograph the contents
Email you a confirmation with photos and next steps
🔍 Step 3: Diagnostic Evaluation
All timepieces—watches and clocks—require a $95.00 diagnostic (bench) fee, which covers:
Full inspection of the movement
Diagnosis of the problem
Preparation of a repair estimate
🧾 This fee must be paid via Liberty Clock Repair’s PayPal account before any work can begin.
If the repair is covered under warranty, the repair itself will be free, but the diagnostic fee still applies.
🧰 Step 4: Repair Estimate & Service Options
After inspection:
You’ll receive a detailed estimate via email
Once your repair estimate is approved, payment in full is required in advance via PayPal.
Due to past non-payment issues, all work must be prepaid before any repairs begin. Thank you for your understanding and support of a small, independent workshop. For simple issues under $75, I may proceed without sending a full estimate to save you time
If you decline the estimate, you’ll only need to pay for return shipping, which is based on the declared value of your item.
🕒 Step 5: Repair Timeline
Once approved:
Any necessary parts will be sourced and ordered
Your item enters the repair queue
Turnaround time varies based on:
Parts availability
Repair complexity
Number of items ahead of yours
🔄 I do not typically send updates until the repair and testing are fully complete.
✅ Step 6: Testing & Final Return
Before returning your timepiece:
I test every piece thoroughly for accuracy and reliability
Once complete, you’ll receive a Paid Invoice with tracking details
Your timepiece is carefully packed and shipped back to you
🛡️ Warranty
All full-service repairs are backed by a 1-Year Warranty, covering both workmanship and any new parts installed.
⚠️ Abandoned Items
If you do not respond to your estimate within 12 months, your timepiece may be marked "Abandoned" and considered donated.
Abandoned items may not be retrievable.
📦 Shipping Instructions
How to Safely Ship Your Clock to Liberty Clock Repair
To ensure your clock arrives safely and can be properly serviced, please follow these packing and shipping guidelines carefully.
📦 How to Pack Your Clock
Wrap the clock securely in bubble wrap or a similarly protective material.
Place the wrapped clock inside a sturdy inner box.
Double-box the shipment by placing the inner box inside a larger outer box with at least 2 inches of padding on all sides (foam sheets, bubble wrap, or crumpled kraft paper).
Seal all seams securely and label the package clearly.
🛑 Do not use Styrofoam peanuts or sheet Styrofoam.
These materials break apart easily, making cleanup difficult and time-consuming.
If used, a $60.00 cleanup and disposal fee will be charged.
Styrofoam is non-recyclable and considered harmful to the environment.
📷 Tip: Take a photo of your packed item before shipping for your records.
📮 Shipping High-Value Items
When shipping clocks of significant value, be sure to insure the package for the full replacement value. This protects you in the unlikely event of damage or loss during transit.
